We have developed Xume Scores to help consumers make better and healthier food choices and to enable us to achieve our individual goals! Our database encompasses more than (20,000) food products, (80,000) ingredients and (1,500) brands.

Food Scores are generated by analyzing multiple dimensions of two key elements – the Nutrition Value and Quality of ALL its Ingredients.

Nutrition Value

We all want to choose better and eat healthy. But figuring out which brand of bread is the right match for you if you are on a gluten free, low sodium, high fiber and low carb diet is not easy. Especially when you are in a store inundated with a zillion options. More so, when each package is claiming the same thing!

Xume is designed to eliminate the complexity of trying to decipher and read information crammed on the sides of product packaging. Our proprietary algorithms scrutinize the nutritional value provided by the manufacturer including calories, fat, protein, saturated fat, trans fat, carbs, sugar, polyols, sodium, fiber, minerals and vitamins and map it with your health goals and dietary needs.

Quality of Ingredients

Hands down, whole foods are almost always the healthiest choices. If you truly want to eat healthy, you have to look beyond the nutrition facts panel on a product's label.

That label will never say "contains a cancer causing food additive" or "made with 3 banned ingredients."

After all, it’s so easy to take a piece of cardboard and spray it with synthetic vitamins, minerals, colours and flavours and claim that nutritionally, it the world’s healthiest food – but is that what you want to eat?

Our proprietary algorithms analyze every single ingredient and estimate how much the food has been processed via a "Process Meter". It exposes the number of synthetic, refined, hazardous and banned ingredients that the product contains and adjusts the score accordingly.

Suitability of Ingredients for YOU

The nutritional value and quality of ingredients mean nothing, if you are allergic or intolerant to them or you simply prefer NOT to consume them.

If you are gluten free, you simply cannot have the latest whole wheat breakfast cereal, despite its wholesome ingredients and nutritional benefits.

If you are or prefer to lead a vegetarian lifestyle, you would like to be warned when a product contains ingredients made from animal by-products.

Our proprietary algorithms automatically flag these products as not suitable for you by dropping their score to zero, and recommend alternatives that better match your unique dietary preferences and health needs.

Personalized Overall Product Score

After analysing the product’s nutrition value, quality of ingredients, and suitability to your dietary preferences and health needs, our proprietary algorithms assign the product with an overall score between 0 and 100 and colour-code it red (0-39), yellow (40-69) or green (70-100) to let you know how good a match the product is for you.

We literally turn the proverbial food pyramid on its head to give you an inverted Xume pyramid to graphically denote the score. The higher the score and the more filled the triangle, the better the product is for you.

Each layer represents how well the product matches your unique dietary preferences and health needs, with the bottom layer representing products that are weak matches for you and should only be eaten occasionally and in small portions, the middle layer representing products that are medium matches for you and the top layer representing products that are good matches for you.
